Barb Johnson to Receive 2025 Heart of the House Award

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska (RMHC) is proud to announce that Barb Johnson, McDonald’s Owner/Operator and dedicated RMHC board member, will be honored with the Heart of the House Award at the RMHC Gala on October 18, 2025, taking place at The Sheraton Grand Seattle Hotel.

The Heart of the House Award is a special community award given by RMHC of Western Washington & Alaska, celebrating individuals whose exceptional leadership, generosity, and commitment embody the mission of RMHC — to keep families with seriously ill children close to the care and resources they need.

Johnson has been a steadfast advocate and ambassador for RMHC for more than 10 years, championing programs and initiatives that directly impact families in crisis. As a McDonald’s Owner/Operator, she has played an instrumental role in strengthening the partnership between McDonald’s restaurants, their customers, and RMHC — with their combined signature fundraising and community engagement program – Roundup for RMHC.

“The Heart of the House Award represents the very best of what makes RMHC possible,” said Deniz Satir, CEO of RMHC of Western Washington & Alaska. “Through leadership on our board, commitment to our mission, and personal generosity, Barb has touched countless families’ lives and inspired others to give back.”

The RMHC Gala is the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year, bringing together community leaders, donors, and partners to celebrate the mission and raise critical funds for programs that serve thousands of families each year. Guests will enjoy an evening of inspiring stories, fine dining, and live entertainment, culminating in the presentation of the Heart of the House Award to Johnson.
